The Three Childhood Friends Received The Legion Of Honor
Three days after they saved lives by acting quickly and subduing a gunman on a Paris-bound train, three American heroes received France’s biggest honor on Monday morning. Childhood friends Airman 1st Class Spencer Stone, National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos and college student Anthony Sadler were pinned with the nation’s highest award for bravery, the Legion of Honour. French President Francois Hollande said the men showed that “faced with terror, we have the power to resist. You also gave a lesson in courage, and thus in hope.” Officials claim the heavily armed gunman had ties to ISIS, while his lawyer has said the 25-year-old simply wanted to rob passengers.
