From Spain: Chelsea make €55m offer for Martial

Chelsea want to bolster their attacking options further this season by making a €55-million offer to sign Monaco star Anthony Martial, according to AS.
The Portuguese manager has moved quickly to try and tie and up some late transfer business after seeing his side humiliated by title rivals Manchester City on the weekend.
The Blues have just completed the £21m (fee via BBC) acquisition of winger Pedro from Barcelona and Jose Mourinho is desperate to add more fire-power in forward areas following an underwhelming start to the Premier League campaign.
Martial, who is still just 19-year-old appears to have a big future in the game. He finished last season as Monaco’s leading goalscorer, netting nine Ligue 1 goals and the former Lyon youngster also impressed in the Champions League, helping the team to the quarter-finals.
However, the aforementioned source claims that the west Londoners’ chances of signing the France under-21 international will depend on whether the French outfit are able to qualify for the group stages of this campaign’s Champions League.
At the moment, the prospects look good for the Premier League Champions, after Leonardo Jardim’s side were beaten 3-1 last night in their first-leg qualifier against Valencia at the Mestalla.
Meanwhile, Mourinho must try and focus his players on this weekend’s trip to the Hawthorns, following two disappointing results to their title defence.
