Arsenal Transfer News: Van Dijk deal done

Arsenal Transfer News: Van Dijk deal done, Benzema has medical today, unveiled tonight

Virgil van Dijk's future is up in the air amid claims he has signed for Southampton.
Arsenal had lined up a move for the Dutch centre-half as they bid to strengthen their defence.
Despite the Gunners' interest, it had been reported by the Sunday People that they had missed out to Southampton, who had won the race to sign the 24-year-old for £10m.
But a spokesman for the Scottish champions tried to downplay the claims and said: "The story is absolute nonsense."
Karim Benzema will be unveiled as an Arsenal player today, according to stunning claims from a journalist.
The Gunners have been pondering a bid to sign Real Madrid striker Benzema all summer.

And now Italian writer Emanuele Giulianelli, who works for Gazzetta dello Sport, says the deal is on the verge of being done.
He tweeted: "He will have a medical Monday early afternoon and be confirmed just before kick off. He will stay in 5 stars hotel London center."
Arsene Wenger has revealed he is open to taking a gamble before deadline day, according to the Evening Standard.
"There is always time to take a gamble and we are not against taking a gamble," Wenger said. "But what you want is to take a gamble in a market where the opportunity is there.
"I believe this squad is ready to fight for the title and has a chance to do it given that we are continuing to develop as a team.
