THE TWO SPERM WHALES THAT WERE FOUND STRANDED ON A BEACH

Beached sperm whales transported to Yangkou Port
The two sperm whales that were found stranded on a beach in Rudong in east China’s Jiangsu Province on Monday were transported to the nearby Yangkou Port on Wednesday.
The authorities there will be investigating the cause of the death of the two whales.
According to a CCTV report, the whales, each around 15-meters-long and weighing over 40 tons, had been dead before they floated to the shore in Rudong.
The sperm whale is the largest toothed whale on earth, and is primarily found in the Yellow Sea and East China Sea. In 2012, it was included in the endangered species list by the World Conservation Union (IUCN).
